Making your life count as a young Christian
Welcome to class, Kingdom Diplomats. Front seats for the early birds.
Today we are talking about making your life count as a young Christian. I will share some tips.
As a Christian, one of the most important things we can strive for is to make our life count. We are called to live a life that glorifies God and points others toward Him. But what does it mean to make our life count? And how can we do it? In today’s teaching, we will explore these questions and provide practical tips for living a life that truly matters.
First, let's consider what it means to make our life count. In Matthew 5:16, Jesus says, "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Making our life count means using our gifts and talents to serve others and bring glory to God. It means living a life that reflects the love and grace of Jesus Christ. It means using our time, resources, and opportunities to make a positive impact on the world around us.
2 Corinthians 5:10 Amplified Bible
10 For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the [a]judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or [b]bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities].
So, how can we make our life count? Here are some practical tips to consider:
Seek God's will for your life. In order to make our life count, we must first seek God's will for our life. This means spending time in prayer and reading the Bible, asking God to guide us and show us His plan for our life. When we are walking in God's will, we can be confident that we are making a difference in the world.
Serve others. Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:40). Serving others is one of the most important ways we can make our life count. Whether it's volunteering at a local charity, helping a neighbor in need, or simply showing kindness to those around us, we can make a difference in the lives of others.
Use your gifts and talents. God has given each of us unique gifts and talents, and He wants us to use them for His glory. Whether it's singing, writing, cooking, or any other talent, we can use our abilities to serve others and point them toward God.
Be a witness for Christ. Making our life count also means being a witness for Christ. We can do this by sharing our faith with others, living a life that reflects the love of Jesus, and inviting others to church or Bible study.
Invest in relationships. Relationships are one of the most important aspects of life. We can make our life count by investing in relationships with our family, friends, and those around us. This means spending quality time with them, showing them love and support, and being a positive influence in their life.
Be a good steward of your resources. God has blessed us with many resources, including our time, money, and talents. We can make our life count by being a good stewards of these resources, using them wisely and for God's purposes.
Pursue excellence. God calls us to do everything with excellence, whether it's our job, our hobbies, or our relationships. When we pursue excellence in all areas of our life, we can make a positive impact on those around us and bring glory to God.
Making our life count is not always easy, but it is always worth it.
When we live a life that reflects the love and grace of Jesus Christ, we can make a positive impact on the world around us and bring glory to God. So, let's seek God's will for our life, serve others, use our gifts and talents, be a witness for Christ, invest in relationships, be a good stewards of our resources, and pursue excellence.
In doing so, we can make our life count and live a life that truly matters.
